An Award Winning Year for Adèle


The superyacht Adèle was designed for speed, and comfort. In 2006, Jan-Eric, Jennifer and the team of Adèle were recognized with three different awards within the international superyacht industry for the combination of luxury and adventure.
	The first award of the year was given to Adèle in April, by the Boat International Group at the World Superyacht Awards in Venice. Adèle won the Neptune Award for Best Performance in the sailing superyacht category. The judges emphasis was on a high degree of in-built cruising comfort and a dash of superyacht design flair, in addition to the more obvious attributes of performance. Two months later, at the Showboats International Awards ceremony in Monaco, Jan-Eric and Jennifer accepted the second award of the year for the Best Sailing Yacht over 40 meters. According to Showboats International, Adele was chosen for design, functionality and overall beauty. The judges felt that the team for Adele succeeded in turning their desire for speed and good looks into a masterpiece. Click here for photos from the award ceremony.

During the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October of 2006, Adèle was honored with the award for the Best Sailing Yacht over 36 meters at a black tie gala hosted by the International Superyacht Society. This evening capped the year off nicely, with Adele making a clean sweep of all the superyacht awards. Since Adele owners Jan-Eric and Jennifer were unable to attend this event, Ruurt Meulemans, Louis Hemming and Andy McNab accepted the award on their behalf. (see image below)

With trophies in hand, Jan-Eric, Jennifer and the team of Adèle set sail in December for a trip around Cape Horn to Antarctica and South Georgia Island before heading back up the Atlantic to warmer cruising grounds.

The year 2006 has shown the international sailing industry that Adèle is not just a showstopper, head turner and award winner but is a truly seaworthy, ocean going, sailing yacht. Only time will tell what Adele will show the sailing industry in 2007.
