We made arrangements for the villagers to perform a ROM-dance
(a masked dance) for us in the afternoon. The ROM dance is a specalty of Ambryn.
The
chief, who led the dance
The black lava sand and dust was whipped up by the dancers and the sun rays broke
through the dense vegetation and lit it up creating a mystical feeling, accentuated
by the masks and the costumes of brown dried leaves.
And inside the masked men where the dancers in namba.

Tanna
Aug 24, 2006
Jennifer left us in Port Vila to fly to the Philippines, and we sailed to Tanna
Island, the last outpost of Vanuatu before we sailed to New Zealand.
On the hills of Tanna
Yasur
is an active volcano on Tanna. Notice the smoke, when it
erupts.
The ash plains around the volcano
David and Paul are on the roof of our car as we are driving on the ash fields.
